Lyndonville Chess Club Challenge Ladder Has Begun

Below you'll find the initial starting ladder for chess challenges. I've listed folks by either US Chess ratings or approximate ratings in my view having played over the board with you. Yes, there is likely an arbitrariness factor--my apologies.

Basic Rules
1. You may challenge a player no more than two rungs above you.
2. The challenge consists of two games  (one as white, one as black) at G-60 with a 10 second delay.
3. In the event of a tie after the first two games (1 point for a win; 0 for a loss; 1/2 for a tie), a final Armageddon game will be played.
4. Armageddon game rules are simple. Players draw for colors. The White player plays G-30; the Black player plays G-40; no delay or increment.
5. If a player wins the challenge the player trades places with the player defeated.

There will likely be a one month time limit to complete a challenge. Players may only engage in one challenge at a time.

Prizes Awarded at LCC Holiday Season Party:
1st Place--Ego Boost, Chess book of annotated chess match games (eg. Tal- Botvinnik)
2nd Place--Chessbase or Chess OK games collection CD
3rd Place--Book on chess history by Genna Sosonoko.

See the attached ladder. If you aren't on the list and want to be added, let me know!  All are welcome.  Good chess to all.
