International Chess Master Matyas Marek of the Czech Republic, a senior at Lyndon Institute, won the internationally sanctioned Danville Open Chess Tournament today ahead of Vermont National Master David Carter of Burlington.
Twenty competitors from Vermont, New Hampshire and Quebec competed in the multi-section tournament based on ability level.
